As the team pulled together for the entire 2008 season it seemed like the work never ended. With major overhauling and rebuilding just to make races the team pulled together every time to ensure each every one made the call.
During the 2008 we were joined by fellow racer John Meade and his girlfirend Nancy and her son Chris. Almost every outing we had the pleasure of hanging out with them and getting to know them better. We spent many hours bench racing, spending time together at partys and hanging out in the pits. During the season we found John there and ready to lend a hand anytime a repair was needed on a team car. Nancy and Chris always there to help the wives and Chris and his positive attitude cheering the guys on.
The members approached me about asking them to join our racing family and it was brought to a vote. My concern was that this was not a club, heck it had already taken on a life of it's own anyways. The main reason for us to even have this team is so we can spend time with the friends and family and share our interest in VW's and racing.
As we finished up the last race at Iriwndale I pulled the team together and asked for one final vote. We approached John and it must have looked like we were angry because all of the team came walking towards him at the same time. I made a little speach about our feelings towards him and his family and asked them to join our racing family. John accepted with pleasure and the family got bigger.
We are honored to have John, Nancy and Chris as the newest family and team members of Silver Bugget Racing.
This is not a club, it is a family.
