Finding time to update the website seems to be harder and harder but I will do my best.
The 2009 season has begun and not without drama and mishaps.
Phoenix was off to a rough start with most of the cars on the team wrenching right after first round of qualifying.
John Meades buggy would not start due to battery failure.
Lance broke his tranny on the line during the launch.
Shawn's carb was having issues.
Rich had rocker issues.
Steve was still trying to dial in the new NOS system.
Jon Schweers was still dialing in his car.
As the day progressed it didn't seem to get much better.
Richie picked up a screw in his slicks. But Steve loaned him his and Richie made the call to the line to pick up points but not to make a pass.
Steve found metal shavings in his oil. This meant a bearing was going away and could possibly blow the engine. His day was done.
John Meade hurt something but would manage to limp his way through a few rounds of elims.
Shawn finally got the carb repaired but too late in the day to dial it in.
Jon Schweers was still dialing in is car but getting closer.
Lance was done for the day wit a broken tranny.
All in all we still had a great time. Just goes to show that no matter how ready you think you are things happen... that's racing.
So now we come to Bug In 34.
Since Lance's car was still broke he decided to take his 56 Speedster and run that just to have fun.
Steve ran his personal best and achieved his goal of 10:90 et running a 10:88.
Richie was running in the Jackpot class and just went to damn fast in elims and broke out.
Shawn, Jon Schweers and John Meade all ran Outlaw Turbo and did very well. Jon and Shawn had to run against each oter in frist round of elims and Shawn got to see what Jon Schweers new parachute looked like.
Shawn lost the next round to Roger Crawford.
John Meade was eliminated first round as well.
Steve was happy with his goal and thought he might have an issue with his car so he decided to park it instead of risking more damage.
Margo Grise ended up being the team hero for the day. Not only did she win the Powder Puff class but she went to the finals in Top Eliminator. Awesome job Margo.
So next up is Sacramento Memorial Day weekend.
Stay tuned for more race updates.
